The Beauty Products You MUST Try Right Now

Updated: Nov 4, 2021

Even though it seems the world is on hold, you can still enjoy putting on your makeup, spending time applying skincare, and creating healthier beauty routines. That feeling of digging into a new palette is always satisfying, and so is finding a foundation that offers the perfect coverage. I recently tried a new high-end eyeshadow palette, and I was blown away, and it got me thinking...what other products am I enjoying right now?

Since there are so many new beauty products launching daily, it can become overwhelming. How do you know what to spend your money on? Which products do you actually need in your life?

I am recommending my favorite makeup and skincare products that I love right now. I'm constantly trying new makeup and beauty products because it's one of my biggest passions. Since I'm discovering new products that I like, I thought I should share them; maybe you're interested in trying them too!

Let me start off with a great hair mask by Garnier.

The Banana Hair Food mask is ideal for curly hair, but I have very fine straight hair, and it still works amazingly. Since my hair is super dry, it adds so much moisture; I can easily comb through it and feel like it's a lot softer after I use the mask. I like to use it once a week to make my hair soft and shiny. With many other masks, I feel like my hair becomes greasy, but this one doesn't do that.

It has an amazing banana scent and a creamy jelly-like texture. It's easy to use, and you only need a small amount to cover your hair strands. Since Garnier is a drugstore brand, you can easily find it for a low price. I can honestly say that I prefer this mask over my expensive Kerastase ones!

This vitamin C moisturizer is a skincare splurge, but it's totally worth it. I use it as a base and primer before putting on makeup. What I love about REN is that it's a clean skincare brand, and they use a lot of good-for-you ingredients in their skincare products. So far, I've tried a few of their other products, but this glow cream is by far my favorite.

It gives your skin this healthy-looking glow that you can visibly see. Many glow creams sink into the skin and don't do much, but this one makes you look radiant. I also notice a difference when I use it because it makes my foundation dewier and glowier.

This cream is suitable for all skin types and also adds vitamin C to your skin. Who doesn't need some more glow, especially during the colder winter months? I actually skip the primer when I use this moisturizer because I feel it's tacky enough as a base and doesn't budge all day.

I've been loving a lighter coverage and lightweight foundation recently. I want a product that lets my skin breathe. So, when I discovered the Bourjois healthy mix serum foundation, I instantly enjoyed it.

This foundation offers light to medium coverage and gives a subtle glow. It's not going to make you look super dewy, and it blends into the skin well. Even though it's a gel foundation, it works just like other liquid products. I tested it by applying it with a brush and a sponge, and it works well with both.

I prefer to use a Real Techniques makeup sponge because it gives a lighter coverage, and it's perfect for those no-makeup makeup days.

I use the shade 51 Light Vanilla, and it's a pretty spot-on match for my skin tone. I bought this foundation online, so I was a bit nervous about the shade match but combined with the concealer I'm using (more on that below), it looks amazing.

Another amazing Bourjois product, but this time it's a concealer. This is the best radiance-boosting and brightening concealer. It gives really good full coverage, and it's perfect for the under-eyes, especially if you have dark circles like me.

I struggle to find concealers that brighten and stay put without creasing and moving after a few hours of wear. This one does the job well, and it has this creamy consistency, which makes it easy to blend with a brush or sponge.

The concealer has a doe-foot applicator, and it's just the perfect size, so you're not wasting product. I wear the shade 01 Ivory, which is a bit lighter than my foundation, so it's great for a concealer shade. I think it's just a great concealer for both barely-there makeup looks to the supermarket, or you can use it for bold looks.

HIGHLIGHTER - MAYBELLINE Master Chrome Metallic

When it comes to drugstore highlighters, the new Master Chrome Metallics range by Maybelline is one of the best. I have the shade called Molten Rose Gold, and it's amazing. I use it as an overall face highlighter after I apply bronzer and blush. It gives this gorgeous metallic glow that's similar to expensive highlighters like the Fenty or Natasha Denona ones, but it costs a fraction of the price.

I've used mine so often, I dropped it and I carry it with me for touch-ups during the day. I like to use a Real Techniques powder brush to apply it, but you can also use a small tapered highlighter brush for extra precision.

There are other beautiful golden shades, some darker and some lighter to suit all skin tones. I recommend taking a light brush of product and swiping in a C shape from the cheekbones to the temples.

Matte red lipstick, bold, right? I love this Maybelline Matte Sensational formula in the shade 382 Red For Me because it's the classic red lip. It's perfect for work, an important Zoom call, or date night. I've been wearing it out with my mask on and there's minimal transfer.

I don't wear red lipstick too often, but from the ones I've tried, this one is both affordable and long-lasting. Even as it starts to fade after many hours of wear, it starts to look like a stain, which is still pretty cute IMO.

Here's a swatch on the back of my hand:

I don't know about you but this lipstick shade makes me think of Old Hollywood actresses. It's such a classic fail-proof shade, I think it's definitely worth having in your lipstick collection.

Now that I'm done sharing my favorites of the last month, I hope I inspire you to play around with makeup!
